Abigail, also known as a.b., is a 24-year-old college grad based outside of New York City. She has an overactive imagination and a knack for solving puzzles.
Born and raised in the never-ending Long Island suburbs, a significant chunk of my childhood was spent escaping into fictional worlds. Eventually, this tactic evolved into what could be marketed as "storytelling". Creating narratives, often inspired by music, became a favorite pass time of mine and bled into my passion for theatre. By age 10, I had started studying theatre, and by age 15, I had written my first play. So when it came time to go to college, I already knew that storytelling would be integral to my lifetime. Therefore, in May of 2020, I graduated from Washington College with a dual degree in Business Management and Theatre.
Unfortunately, 2020 had its own agenda... Throughout the chaos, however, I found myself growing a platform on TikTok. It was a place I could continue to tell stories while the stage was closed. In July, I had an idea for a playlist utilizing Harry Styles’ solo discography to create a jukebox musical. I curated it together, posted the link to TikTok, and hoped it would reach an audience.
And boy did it!
The video quickly garnered 1M+ views with the playlist on Spotify getting saved by 55k+ users. This desire from fans to experience familiar music in an entirely new way struck a goldmine of inspiration within my storytelling heart. Since then, I have curated and written 6 multimedia concept pieces including scripts for 5 different pop artists, amassing a following of 90k+ followers on TikTok.
As an artist, it is my focus to utilize a variety of mediums to tell stories that help fans understand the concepts and themes present in a collection of songs while remaining stylistically aligned with the original musician and their intentions.
I believe that the sky is the limit with my creations. They can be used as an addendum to an album, to guide an album’s track list order, to craft a story-driven performance set list, or anything else. My work exists to serve the greater artistic vision of the music.
